The fine line between pure art and commercial art is sometimes very subtle. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Cow Boys, a first-rate studio that produces artworks and pasteups for the press, Cima has created a gallery of 25 graphic works - physically developed by the Cow Boys - using a single visual element, the number 25.
This number has been graphically reinvented for each of the studio’s 25 years in business: 25 works characterized by feats of graphic acrobatics and virtuosity that explore the visual possibilities that can arise from a theme as dull, arid and unexiting as the number 25.
This potential limitation to creativity is amplified further by Cima's decision to limit himself to the few tools underlying vintage graphic art: typefaces, lines and colours.
